Sometimes Touring a Joliet Home Requires a Hammer
Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:03AM There are a number of tools that Realtors consider essential to the trade. The typical ones include a digital camera, lap top, printer, cell phone. . .you know, the obvious business tools. And then there are the additional items that quickly find their way into the trunk of the car. A flash light, very necessary when viewing the many Joliet area foreclosures that are without electricity. It also helps when exploring basements, crawlspaces and attics. A measuring tape to check and see if the furniture will fit. . .in the room and through the door! Disposable surgical masks. . .mold. . .need I say more. . .
However, I recently was in desperate need of a new tool. A hammer. Why?
I am working with a client who has targeted the Neustoneshire subdivision in Joliet. Located along county line road on the far western side of town, the area is a mixture of recently completed homes, partially finished homes and empty lots.
Formerly the newest subdivision being built by Neumann Homes, construction ground to a halt when the company filed for bankruptcy last fall. Most of the remaining properties are now owned by a bank and William Ryan homes has been contracted to finish any homes that are sold.
There are several floor plans still available in the subdivision and my client and I toured the complete and partially complete homes. However access was an issue when we approached this particular property.

This was a floor plan we had not yet seen and this was the only one available. Was it the perfect choice for my client? No way to know if we couldn't get inside.
At this point a hammer was not a part of my home showing arsenal, luckily there were several finished homes on the block and a neighbor was kind enough to lend us one.
Touring homes does not usually require this level of effort, but in case it does I am now prepared. . .a hammer has made it into my showing arsenal.
For buyers looking for new construction in Joliet, Neustoneshire may be a great option. There are a number of floor plans still available ranging in price from $220,000 to $425,000. Many homes are partially complete allowing the buyer the freedom to select many of the finishes. If selecting finishes is overwhelming, the former models are for sale as well allowing you to buyer a home decorated by the professionals.
If you are interested in a tour of the Neustoneshire subdivision in Joliet contact me at 815-207-9703. . .I'll grab my hammer and meet you there.
